Ulta Haul // 6.28.16

Although I don’t wear a full face of make-up every single day, the beauty industry is something that I have been in love with since my early high school days. I stumbled across the beauty community on YouTube one day, and was instantly hooked. I haven’t been as involved as I would like to be with the community in college (mostly because I didn’t have the extra money to spend on it), but recently I’ve become hooked again. I made my first trip to Ulta in quite some time, so I figured I would share what I picked up! I got a new beauty rewards card and will definitely be spending more of my money there from now on.

Excuse the bad quality of the picture with the swatches, but I am obsessed with these! I have been on a kick of liquid lipsticks lately, and the NYX Lingerie is by far the best one that I’ve tried so far. I was skeptical to buy them because I never really have tried nude lips on myself, but I absolutely love the way this looks on me. The formula isn’t too drying on my lips, which I was worried about because I have pretty dry lips, and it stayed on my lips for hours. (I had to scrub my arm pretty hard with a makeup wipe to get the swatch off, if that tells you anything!)

Ulta Illuminating Powder in Yellow Diamond // $10.00

I’ve also been on a kick with highlighters lately. I’ve mostly been using Benefit’s High Beam, which is my obsession, but I had been wanting to try a powder highlighter. I didn’t really want to splurge on any high-end brands yet, just in case I didn’t like a powder highlighter, so when I saw Ulta’s brand for only $10, and it was the only one left, I knew I had to pick it up. I’ve only used it once, so I can’t really do much of a review, but it gave me a nice highlight! I think I still prefer my High Beam, but I think eventually I will decide to try a high-end powder highlight, because I think it will be worth it.

Urban Decay’s Naked 2 Palette // $54.00

This palette has been a long time coming for me. I already have the original Naked palette and Naked 3, I just had never got around to picking up Naked 2, even though it’s the one that I’m the most drawn to out of the three. I am obsessed with this palette and regret not picking it up sooner! It’s perfect for everyday looks, and I know that I’ll be able to get some good nighttime looks out of it as well.

I haven’t tried either one of these yet so I can’t say anything about them, but these were the samples that I got with my purchase! (I also got a sunscreen sample, but I can’t find it anywhere—oops.) However, after seeing that the peel pads retail for $78.00, I’ll definitely be saving that one for a special day.
